Found objects, fabric, fresh fruit and flowers, sugar, resin, wood
2014
This installation piece features a table beautifully set for a tea gathering complete with cups of tea, a teapot, a table lamp, fresh fruit and flowers and a floral table cloth. It represents a moment of beauty and closeness that is so intense that the world seizes to exist and only this moment has your complete attention. The table is floating above our heads as if it were a dream, an almost impossible-to-achieve experience. This installation was created and first presented at Studioworks Artist Residency in Eastport, Maine.
Chairs, table, grass, fabric, other found objects
2012
This installation took place in downtown Galesburg, IL. A table set for 2 people was placed in an alley. The little table with teacups and chairs represents a possibility of an intimate gathering over tea. To gather over tea means to find time to share and pay attention to each other and be present together with another person in an intimate way. Set in an alley this piece elicits an element of surprise and wonder.
This piece was created and presented during my residency at Galesburg Civic Arts Center.
This installation took place along with the previous one in downtown Galesburg, IL. In an empty lot, two very tall chairs were installed with teapots sitting on top of them. The chairs appear to be set against the background of the sky and represent a place of an exclusive and beautiful encounter away from the mundane. This piece was created and presented during my residency at Galesburg Civic Arts center.
Fabric, wood, book, mailbox, pine branches
2013
In this interactive installation, visitors were invited to enter a cozy tipi-like structure and create a personal anonymous diary entry which was then displayed on the wall. Due to anonymity, people allowed themselves to share intimate things which allowed everyone an opportunity to learn about each other what is normally concealed.
This piece was my MFA thesis show at Northern Illinois University.
Various found objects, pomegranate, flowers, juice
2017
This temporary installation was created for an exhibition at Undercurrent Projects in New York. It explored the qualities of aliveness and deadness.
After several days of being on display, the organic elements were overtaken with mold.
