An introduction to my project titled Mood Cookies and Tea - a social practice piece that involves hosting tea parties in unusual circumstances. The participants are invited to experience a moment of self-reflection in a new environment while sharing my hand-crafted “mood cookies” imprinted with various emotions.
Each participant can choose a mood they identify with at the moment and have it as a conversation starter.
The participants got an opportunity to experience the familiar place in a new way - while having a shared moment of self-reflection with a cup of tea and mood cookies.
While normally used for gardening the space got a chance to be activated by a gathering of people from the neighborhood and their friends to experience the place in a different way and contemplate their states of being through sharing mood cookies.
Participants got a chance to experience this urban ranch in a new contemplative way. Normally they come to the ranch to work and harvest but this time they got to have a moment of contemplative connection with the environment and the self.
The participants got a chance to experience an art gallery while sitting down to drink tea and contemplate their states of being all while absorbing the art that was surrounding them.
The participants got an opportunity to experience the cold of winter while contemplating their surrounding with a cup of hot tea and having a shared experience with each other.
